Ukraine Seeks New Routes for Grain Exports Amid Conflict

The Ukrainian government is working to update its plan to protect grain exports, which have been severely impacted by the conflict in the region. According to Ukragroconsult, two possible scenarios were discussed at a meeting between the president and military agencies: shipowners notifying Ukraine and Russia of ships' arrival or departure, and establishing 'ceasefire windows' for shipping operations.

No agreements have been reached on these proposals, and it is unclear if they will become part of a new peace plan announced by Ukraine's major media outlets. The Russian side has stated that it is unaware of the existence of a new plan, and Putin has rejected mediation efforts regarding a ceasefire.

Ukraine's President Zelenskyy emphasized the need for 'asymmetric solutions' to address the crisis, including securing fuel for the Ukrainian market, additional export routes, and support programs for producers. He noted that Ukraine is counting on understanding from its partners, including neighboring countries in the region and Brussels.
