Ukraine Slashes Grain Export Forecast Amid Odesa Port Attacks
Ukraine has reduced its grain export forecast for the 2026/27 season by up to 12% due to Russian attacks on Odesa ports. The agriculture ministry targeted a new range of 38-40 million tons, down from an initial projection of 43 million tons.
The attacks have halted shipments from Odesa ports, which are vital for Ukraine and the global agricultural market. Over 90% of Ukraine's grain exports go through these seaports.
A possible storage shortfall of 11 million tons and estimated losses to the sector of up to $3 billion have also been reported.
