Ukraine's Fuel Crisis Deepens as Prices Skyrocket
The fuel crisis in Ukraine is causing prices to rise rapidly, with A-95 gasoline increasing by 4.3 UAH/liter over the past week to 80.88 UAH/liter and diesel fuel rising to 9.34 (88 UAH/liter) in some retail chains.
The increased demand for diesel fuel is partly due to the shift of grain shipments from ports to road transport, while supplies remain at normal levels.
However, the search for additional resources is complicated by Turkey, which previously imported over 1 million metric tons of diesel fuel from Russia each month until Russia halted exports.
The introduction of the E10 standard on July 1 has led to a shortage of gasoline in Ukraine, with one gas station chain already displaying '0' lights due to difficulties in producing it domestically and foreign suppliers unable to increase their production.
