Ukraine's Grain Crop Could Reach Record High in 2026/27

Ukraine's grain and oilseed crop could reach 85 million metric tons (MMT) in the 2026/27 marketing year, according to ASAP Agri. This would be an increase from last season's estimated 77.9-80.6 MMT. The USDA estimates a slightly lower production at 82.5 MMT, while the Ukrainian Grain Association predicts 82.6 MMT.

The majority of wheat and barley has been harvested, with yields significantly higher than last year's levels. However, the final crop result depends heavily on late-season crops like corn, sunflower, and soybeans. In some regions, these crops are already nearing completion, while in others they are still flowering.

In the southern steppe zone, crops are developing well, with favorable weather conditions and improved access to nitrogen fertilizers contributing to strong yields. Corn and sunflower in this region have completed flowering, and temperatures forecasted for August will likely only accelerate maturation.
