Ukraine's Grain Exports Plummet by 25% Amid Market Uncertainty
Ukraine's grain exports have slowed down significantly compared to last year. According to the State Customs Service of Ukraine, in the 2026/27 crop season (as of September 18), a total of 4.555 million tons of grain and leguminous crops were exported. This is a 25% decline from the previous season's exports, which stood at 5.701 million tons as of September 19.
Breaking down the export figures by crop, wheat accounted for 2.267 million tons (582 thousand tons in September), corn made up 1.823 million tons (203 thousand tons), and barley totaled 402 thousand tons (34 thousand tons). Rye exports were negligible at just 0.2 thousand tons.
Additionally, Ukraine has exported a small amount of flour since the start of the season - 7.2 thousand tons (2.3 thousand tons in September) - with wheat being the primary component of these exports, totaling 6.7 thousand tons (2.1 thousand tons).
