Ukraine's Grain Exports Stalled by Logistics Woes
Ukraine's grain exports have been severely impacted by logistics problems in August. The country managed to export only 20% of its potential grain volume during this period, with a total of 522 thousand tons shipped abroad.
This is according to Taras Vysotsky, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, who stated that alternative routes for oilseeds have helped maintain necessary export volumes. However, the situation is more complicated when it comes to grain exports, which have become unprofitable in many cases due to current logistics costs.
Overall, Ukraine's agricultural exports from August 1 to 18 totaled 899.6 thousand tons, representing about 31% of the country's potential export volume under normal logistics conditions.
