Ukraine's Grain Exports Stumble, Except for Corn
Ukraine's grain exports have slowed down significantly in the current marketing year compared to last year, according to data from the country's Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food. As of September 25th, Ukraine had exported a total of 4.866 million tons of grains and pulses, which is a decrease of 1.113 million tons or 18.6% from the same period last year.
The data also shows that wheat exports have been severely impacted, with a total of 2.486 million tons exported as of September 25th, down by 1.682 million tons or nearly 40.3% compared to the previous year. In contrast, corn exports have seen a significant increase, totaling 1.884 million tons, which is more than double the volume exported during the same period last year.
The only crop that has experienced an increase in export pace is rye, with a total of 0.2 thousand tons exported since the beginning of the new marketing year. However, barley exports have been severely impacted, reaching a total of 431 thousand tons as of September 25th, which is down by 360 thousand tons or 45% from last year.
