Ukraine's Grain Output Set to Surge Amid Conflict-Strained Exports
The Ukrainian agricultural sector is expected to experience significant growth in the coming years. According to the nation's association of grain producers and exporters, the projected output for the 2026 crop will reach 84.6 million metric tons, a notable increase driven by favorable climate conditions.
This forecast suggests potential exports of nearly 52 million tons in the 2026/27 season, including 18 million tons of wheat.
However, Ukraine's export infrastructure has been severely strained due to escalating Russian attacks on Black Sea ports. Despite this challenge, Ukraine remains a major contributor to Europe's grain market, with corn and wheat being the primary crops planted.
