Ukrainian Corn Prices Plummet Amid Old Harvest Demand

The Ukrainian corn market is experiencing an ambiguous situation as demand for old harvest stocks remains present while prices for newly harvested corn are rapidly decreasing. According to the Electronic Grain Exchange, prices have dropped by 100-500 UAH/ton within a week, reaching 5500-6000 UAH/ton on EXW terms at elevators in the east and center of the country.

However, in western regions, the situation is different, there is still demand for corn with delivery in September at a price of 7000-7500 UAH/ton FCA-loaded into a railcar or truck. This can be explained by delivery delays and the existence of signed contracts for supply to the EU among traders.

The European Commission reported that in the 2026/27 marketing year as of September 20, the EU increased corn imports by 26.9% compared to the same period last year, reaching 4.47 million tons. Imports from the USA have grown 4.2 times, while imports from Ukraine have doubled.
