The balance of power in the Black Sea region has shifted significantly since Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine began.

Russian naval dominance is no longer a reality, and the increased use of Ukrainian drones to target Russian ports has made exporting goods across the Black Sea increasingly difficult.

Novorossiysk, Russia's largest commercial port on the Black Sea, has been particularly affected by these attacks. In recent weeks, disruptions to oil and grain exports have caused significant problems for Russian exporters and the state budget.

According to experts, if the attacks continue, the consequences could be severe. Novorossiysk is the largest Russian port by cargo throughput and one of the largest ports in Europe, with about a third of Russia's grain exports passing through it.
