Ukrainian Drones Strike Russian Oil Terminal, Fueling Global Market Uncertainty

The Russian oil terminal at Sheskharis has stopped exporting crude after a wave of Ukrainian drone strikes, further disrupting global oil markets. The storm alert for the region was not announced until late Thursday, two days after the final load of crude.

Russian officials have warned that travel in the Black Sea is hazardous due to the threat of attacks from Ukrainian drones. This comes as Ukraine has sharply increased attacks on ships in Russia's Black Sea and Sea of Azov regions, aiming to pressure Moscow into negotiations.

The Sheskharis terminal plays a crucial role in Russia's energy export infrastructure, handling the largest volume of Black Sea crude shipments for the country. Any extended closure will not only disrupt Russian export flows but also heighten global supply uncertainty at a time when the Middle East crisis has already driven oil prices higher.
