Ukrainian Forces Target Russia's Perm Refinery in Second Attack

Ukrainian forces have launched another attack on Russia's energy infrastructure, targeting one of the country's largest oil refineries. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Telegram that Ukrainian long-range weapons had hit Lukoil's Perm refinery overnight.

The Perm refinery processes 260,000 barrels of crude oil per day and is part of a larger system that feeds fuel into both the domestic market and export pipelines.

This is not the first time the Perm refinery has been targeted by Ukraine. In late July, Ukrainian forces hit the same facility in an attempt to disrupt Russia's energy supplies.

The attacks are having a significant impact on Russia's economy, with energy markets sensitive to supply disruptions. If refinery outages continue to cut into exports, global oil prices could be affected, showing up in portfolios that own energy stocks or funds and at the gas pump.
