Ukrainian Grain Prices Plummet Amid Carryover Stocks and Late Harvesting
The Ukrainian Universal Exchange has released its latest market update for grains and oilseeds, covering the period from September 10 to 16, 2026. The exchange's AgroMarket UUB platform provides a new level of service in the agricultural market, offering an organized market for grains and oilseeds.
Corn prices are experiencing a gradual decline due to large carryover stocks from the previous season and the start of late crop harvesting in five regions. The average domestic price has dropped by 5.87% over the past week, while port prices stand at $165.5/ton. On the Chicago exchange, the December corn contract fell to $210.3/ton due to profit-taking and the liquidation of long positions.
The Ukrainian wheat market remains less active, with indicative ranges expanding depending on individual buyers' needs. Domestic processors are buying small batches for current needs, while exporters' demand is restrained by logistical constraints. Port prices stand at $172.3/ton, and the December contract in Chicago rebounded to close at $268.5/ton.
The sunflower market maintains high liquidity with a massive influx of physical supply from southern and central regions. Purchase levels for processors have dropped to 18,500-19,300 UAH/ton EXW, while farmgate prices range from 17,200 to 18,000 UAH/ton.
