Ukrzaliznytsia Sees 31% Drop in Iron Ore Exports, Grain Shipments Rise
Ukrzaliznytsia's export of iron and manganese ore decreased by 31% year-over-year in the first half of 2026, with a total reduction of 5.3 million tons. This was reported during a meeting of representatives from Ukrzaliznytsia, the European Business Association, and the American Chamber of Commerce.
The company transported a total of 35 million tons for export in the first six months of this year, down from 40.3 million tons in the same period last year. The volume of transportation decreased by 9.6% compared to the same period last year.
Grain exports saw an increase of 19.5% year-over-year, while cement exports declined by 45% annually, or 400 thousand tons. Ferrous metals exports decreased by 1.2%, or 30 thousand tons.
