The ongoing conflict between Iran and the United States has escalated significantly in recent days. The Iranian military launched 20 ballistic missiles at a US base in Jordan, but most of them were intercepted by the Jordanian air defense system.

According to Reuters, Tehran also announced plans to establish a new restricted maritime zone, which will include the port city of Chabahar near the border with Pakistan. The exact boundaries of this zone are yet to be published.

The United States has responded by destroying five Iranian oil tankers and warning that it will target any tanker attempting to attack US Navy ships. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Iran would lose its tankers every time it tried to strike American warships.
