US and Iran Resume Ceasefire Talks Amid Ongoing Oil Export Disputes

U.S. and Iranian officials held separate talks with mediators on Monday as efforts to revive a ceasefire in the Middle East resumed.

The Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, met with Qatari mediators in New York and stated that Tehran expected a response from Washington by Tuesday.

Iran's proposal includes the release of frozen funds, an end to sanctions on oil exports, and lifting of a naval blockade, followed by nuclear talks within seven days.

U.S. President Donald Trump said that U.S. officials had spoken separately with mediators and called Iran's proposal 'unacceptable', stating that 'We're going to win. It's going to go pretty quickly.'
