US Blockade Crushes Iran's Oil Exports, Regime on Brink of Economic Collapse
US naval blockade has significantly impacted Iran's oil exports, causing them to plummet to nearly zero. According to analysis from Miad Maleki, a former senior US Treasury official, this economic pressure could destabilize the regime within two to three months.
The blockade has exposed Iran's biggest economic vulnerability, which is its dependence on oil exports to pay for essential services such as paying its troops and government employees.
Iran pays about 60% of its military personnel and industrial workers' salaries through oil exports. If these exports continue to be hampered, the regime will have limited options to shield its soldiers and elites from economic shock.
Maleki warned that once members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and wealthy elite start complaining, the regime's attitude is likely to change.
