US Boosts Military Presence in Middle East with Patriot Deployments
The United States has strengthened its military presence in the Middle East by deploying two additional Patriot missile batteries to protect oil and gas facilities in Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
The deployment is part of a larger effort to reassure US allies that their critical energy infrastructure will be protected, particularly in the face of potential threats from Iran.
According to Axios, one of the batteries has been stationed in Saudi Arabia to defend a major oil facility, while the other has been deployed in Qatar to protect a gas facility.
This move comes after US President Donald Trump reportedly considered launching large-scale military operations against Iran earlier this year, which could have included strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure.
