US-Bound Tankers Carry $600M in Seized Iranian Oil

Three Iran-linked tankers seized by the United States are currently crossing the Atlantic Ocean towards American shores. The vessels, carrying nearly six million barrels of Iranian crude oil valued at approximately $600 million, were loaded in April after being seized by US authorities.

The cargo's intended destination has raised concerns about the effectiveness of sanctions against Iran, which aim to disrupt the country's ability to sell its oil on the global market. The US Department of War stated that the seizures were aimed at disrupting sanctioned vessels providing material support to Iran.
