US Corn Exports Surge as Futures Trade Flat Ahead of Government Data
Corn futures traded flat on Monday, ending between 3/4 cent lower and a penny higher across the complex. The muted price action reflected limited directional conviction ahead of upcoming government data.
The US corn crop condition ratings held steady at 61% good to excellent, while export inspections reached 1.74 MMT for the week of August 6. This lifted marketing year exports to 79.02 MMT, a 25.0% increase from the same period last year.
A private corn sale to unknown destinations was reported by USDA on Monday, totaling 105,000 MT for the 2026/27 marketing year. The September contract saw open interest decline by 15,180 contracts due to rolling activity.
