US Corn Futures Climb Amid Technical Buying
Corn futures are trading mostly 8 cents higher at midmorning, marking a fresh high for the move amid technical buying. Traders are weighing U.S. production prospects and demand as they make their decisions. Pro Farmer's Crop Tour has been measuring yields in various regions, with scouts on the eastern leg of the tour recording an average yield potential of 183.54 bu. per acre in Indiana, down from 193.82 last year and the three-year average of 187.42.
The Trump administration delayed 50% tariffs on Canadian products for three days, citing a tentative agreement to resolve a trade dispute. This move has been seen as a positive development for markets. Soybeans are mostly 21 cents higher, while meal is around $4.00 higher. Soyoil, however, is around 80 points lower.
Scouts on the western leg of the Crop Tour measured pod counts in a 3’x3’ square averaged 1219.62 in Nebraska, down from 1,348.31 in 2025 and the three-year average of 1,226.94. The pump price of diesel in the U.S. hit $5.47 a gallon on Tuesday, near its all-time high of $5.82.
