US Corn Harvest Progress Caps Gains as Black Sea Talks Pressure Wheat
The US corn harvest is progressing ahead of last year and the five-year average, but recent rainfall in parts of the Corn Belt may slow down the pace. This could put pressure on prices, despite good progress so far.
Corn futures in Chicago are trading within the USD 5.0-5.5/bushel range, according to Nixal Commodities. The firm's estimate for the 2026/27 average price of corn remains at USD 5.5/bushel.
Wheat prices have fallen due to growing hopes for a Black Sea export corridor, which would allow for more grain exports from Ukraine and Russia. Diplomatic efforts are underway to resolve the issue, but no agreement has been announced yet.
