The US has denied any involvement in redirecting a Pakistani-bound liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker, which was previously idle in the Persian Gulf for over three weeks.

The Al Areesh, carrying Qatari LNG, loaded at Qatar's Ras Laffan export terminal in early July and had been unable to transit the Strait of Hormuz due to unclear reasons.

However, on Thursday, the tanker successfully navigated the waterway with its transponders activated, signaling Pakistan as its intended destination.
