The US has deployed additional Patriot air defense batteries to Saudi Arabia and Qatar in response to growing tensions with Iran.

The deployments come as President Donald Trump weighs whether to resume attacking Iran, with thousands of troops and a new aircraft carrier strike group being sent to the region.

A total of two Patriot batteries have been deployed: one to protect a key oil facility in Saudi Arabia and another to safeguard a natural gas facility in Qatar. This move is significant given that Patriot batteries are in high demand worldwide, with only 33 stationed at home and 27 overseas.
