US Deploys Extra Missile Defense to Shield Mideast Energy Hubs
The US has deployed additional Patriot missile batteries to protect energy infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and Qatar from potential Iranian strikes.
Two Patriot systems were sent last month, one to Saudi Arabia's key oil-producing facility and another to a natural gas site in Qatar.
This move comes as the region remains on high alert following a seven-month-long war with Iran.
In September, Iranian strikes damaged pumping stations on an East-West pipeline in Saudi Arabia, forcing it to shut down for two weeks.
