The US military has deployed additional Patriot missile batteries to protect energy facilities in Saudi Arabia and Qatar amid concerns of renewed combat operations against Iran.

The deployments were intended to reassure both countries that Washington would safeguard their critical energy infrastructure if President Trump resumes major attacks on Iran.

A key oil facility in Saudi Arabia received one battery last month, while a natural gas facility in Qatar was protected by another. US officials said these appeals from Saudi and Qatari leaders played a significant role in Trump's decision to pursue economic pressure instead of military action.
