US Destroys Iranian Oil Tankers as Mideast Tensions Escalate
The US military has destroyed five Iranian oil tankers in response to missile attacks on American warships, escalating tensions between the two nations.
The strikes come after Iran fired ballistic missiles at a US Navy warship twice in two days, targeting an aircraft carrier and a guided-missile destroyer.
The Houthis, backed by Iran, have also launched a renewed offensive against Saudi-backed government forces in Yemen, threatening the Bab al-Mandeb strait, a key waterway for oil exports.
