The United States has enacted new sanctions legislation targeting Russian and Iranian oil, giving President Donald Trump 'additional options' to deal with ongoing conflicts.

In an interview with ANI, US State Department Hindi and Urdu spokesperson Bilal Faruqi explained that the Congress-passed bill, signed by Trump, aims to restrict oil imports from Russia and Iran.

Faruqi stated that Trump has 'more options' due to the legislation, but emphasized that the President would decide how to use these options.

The impact of the new law on India-US relations remains unclear, as Faruqi noted that there are currently no details available regarding its effects on Indian oil imports from Russia.
