US Energy Stocks Gain Attention as Inflation Boosts Oil Prices
Rising inflation has pushed energy costs higher, impacting some sectors while benefiting others. Three US energy stocks are gaining attention from retail investors: Riley Exploration Permian (REPX), Kosmos Energy (KOS), and Diamondback Energy (FANG).
Riley Exploration Permian generates $483.86 million in revenue from oil and gas production in the US, with a market value of approximately $959 million. The company's fortunes are closely tied to domestic oil and gas pricing.
Kosmos Energy is another pure producer with over $1.58 billion in revenue coming from exploring, developing, and producing oil and gas. However, its balance sheet is a point of tension, as the market has historically viewed Kosmos as having good assets but a weak balance sheet.
Diamondback Energy is one of the purest plays on the US energy producers and refiners theme, with its entire business focused on unconventional oil and gas in the Permian Basin. With a market value near $53.88 billion, Diamondback Energy has structural advantages as a well-capitalized US producer.
