US Ethanol Production Holds Ground Despite Slight Fluctuations
The US ethanol production has shown resilience in meeting domestic and export demand despite slight fluctuations. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, production averaged 1.107 million barrels per day last week, down 26,000 from the previous week's record high but still up 26,000 from a year ago.
The Renewable Fuels Association notes that while net inputs of ethanol purchased by refiners and blenders saw fractional declines, ethanol exports reached a four-week high at an average of 200,000 barrels per day. This increase is attributed to rising demand, with exports up 84,000 from the same time last year.
The industry's ability to maintain steady corn use has contributed to solid margins and consistent production levels. The USDA will release its updated corn for ethanol use projection on August 12th at Noon Eastern/11 Central, providing further insight into the sector's performance.
