US-Flagged Oil Tankers Seized from Iran Sail Across Atlantic

Three oil tankers seized by US forces in recent months are now sailing across the Atlantic Ocean, bound for the United States. According to tracking data from maritime analytics firm Kpler and TankerTrackers.com, the vessels are carrying approximately six million barrels of Iranian crude oil valued at roughly $600 million.

The Majestic X and Tifani were intercepted by US forces in April after loading oil in Iran, where their original transponders had falsely listed destination ports in China and Singapore. The Lenore was seized earlier in June in the Indian Ocean.

The seizures occurred as part of a broader effort to curb Iran's oil export revenues, with the US Department of Defense stating that such interdictions are aimed at dismantling shadow banking and shipping networks used to bypass international trade restrictions.
