US Futures Climb on Eased Oil Prices, Jobs Report Looms
U.S. futures are rising as oil prices ease, with investors looking ahead to the jobs report due later in the day.
Futures for the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average both rose 0.5 per cent on Friday, while Nasdaq futures gained 0.7 per cent.
The decline in oil prices comes as U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent urged Europe to release diesel reserves, citing 'American farmers, truckers, and businesses should not be left carrying the burden of a global diesel shortage.'
Brent crude lost 2.4 per cent to below $100 a barrel, at $99.88, after advancing on Thursday, while benchmark U.S. crude declined 3.7 per cent to $89.47 a barrel.
