The national average price for gasoline has risen by 16 cents to $4.43 per gallon, according to AAA.

This increase is due to elevated crude oil prices, which have been averaging about $100 per barrel amid continued volatility in the Strait of Hormuz.

Gas prices have returned to levels seen earlier this spring and are approaching the 2026 high of $4.56 per gallon, recorded on May 21.

The all-time national record is $5.01 per gallon, set on June 14, 2022.
