US Gas Prices Hit Record High as Iran War Disrupts Oil Supplies

The average price of gas in the US has reached a record high of $4.14 per gallon ahead of this year's Labor Day weekend, surpassing the previous record of $3.82 set in 2012.

This comes as the ongoing war in Iran continues to disrupt global oil supplies, causing prices for diesel to surge to an all-time high of $5.85 per gallon on Friday.

Energy Secretary Chris Wright sidestepped questions about potential further price increases due to the conflict and other factors, stating that prices were more likely to drop than rise based on current market trends.
