US Grain Markets See Significant Gains Amid Harvest Season
The US grain markets saw significant gains on September 15, 2026, with soybean futures leading the charge. November soybeans surged 14.5 cents to $13.1875 per bushel, while December corn rose by 2.6 cents to $5.3575 and December Chicago wheat jumped 6.5 cents to $7.2850.
The price increases were attributed to technical buying and strength across commodities, as well as the approach of the US harvest season. With 57% of US corn rated good to excellent and 58% of soybeans in those categories, farmers are watching crop conditions closely.
Corn futures recovered from overnight weakness, gaining 2.6 cents, despite improved crop conditions. Meanwhile, soybean development was ahead of normal, with 44% of the crop dropping leaves. The next US winter wheat crop is getting a slower start, with planting reaching only 8%.
