US Grain Markets Slide as China Trade Talks Weigh on Export Sales
U.S. grain markets experienced a decline on September 24, 2026, due to disappointing export sales and uncertainty surrounding U.S.-China trade negotiations.
Corn futures fell, with December corn down 1.5 cents to $5.2750 per bushel and March corn declining 2 cents to $5.4150.
Soybean prices also dropped, with November soybeans slipping half a cent to $13.1750 per bushel and January losing 1.75 cents to $13.32.
The weak export sales figures were particularly concerning for the soybean market, with only 21.4 million bushels sold during the week ending September 17, compared to market expectations of 55.1 million to 73.5 million bushels.
Wheat also struggled due to technical selling and weak export demand, with December Chicago SRW wheat declining 1.5 cents to $7.07 per bushel and December Kansas City HRW wheat falling 4.75 cents to $7.67.
