Gold futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) slid for the seventh straight day to Rs 1.50,170 per 10 grams due to heightened concerns over inflation and interest rates.

The US-Iran conflict has also contributed to the decline in gold prices, with crude oil prices spiking sharply as a result of renewed military strikes between the two nations.

On Wednesday, the gold contract for October delivery on MCX dropped by Rs 1,559 or 1.03 per cent from its previous close of Rs 1,51,729 per 10 grams.
