US-Iran Pause Spurs Drop in Oil Prices
Oil prices have eased following a pause in US-Iran military strikes in the Persian Gulf. The price for Brent crude oil to be delivered in September dropped by 4.9% to $92.02 after early trading on Sunday. This decline followed a 3.9% drop on Friday, marking further declines from a two-month high set last week.
The US and Iran have refrained from launching military strikes for the second straight day, contributing to the easing of oil prices. The Brent crude oil price had reached $92.02 after a brief trading halt on Sunday morning, down from its peak in August.
