Oil prices dipped on August 25, 2026, after the Trump administration's warning to countries to cut ties with Iran did not result in new penalties. The economic campaign against Iran stopped short of imposing actual sanctions.

Brent crude fell by 0.1% to $92.08 a barrel following the move. US crude rose 0.1% to $85.09 after falling more than 2% overnight.

The Trump administration issued a warning on Monday for countries to cut business ties with Iran, but the Treasury Department did not announce penalties as part of the move.
