US-Iran Talks Send Dutch, British Gas Prices Plummeting
Natural gas prices in the Netherlands and Britain dropped by over 5% on Wednesday afternoon as markets responded to potential developments in US-Iran negotiations.
The Dutch gas contract for August delivery declined 5.75% to 52.70 euros per megawatt hour, while the British equivalent contract fell 5.91% to 128.79 pence per therm, according to ICE data.
The decline in prices was attributed to market expectations of a possible resolution to the conflict and resumption of energy shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.
