US-Iran Tensions Ease, Stocks Drift on Wall Street
Stocks on Wall Street ended in a mixed bag Monday as investors digested news that the US and Iran have paused their attacks while negotiations to end the war resume. The S&P 500 barely changed, up less than 0.1%, following two consecutive weekly losses.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.5% after the slight improvement in global tensions. However, the Nasdaq composite fell 0.2%, weighed down by a 5% drop in Nvidia's stock price.
Oil prices also took a hit as Brent crude fell 6.3% to settle at $85.87 per barrel, down from its recent high of $102 last week.
