US Natural Gas Market Eyes Stable Winter Amid Global Turbulence
The U.S. natural gas market is expected to remain relatively stable heading into the 2026-2027 winter, driven by strong production and high storage inventories.
In its September Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO), the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates that underground storage inventories could approach 4 Tcf by the end of October, the second-highest end-of-October inventory level on record.
However, global markets face a less comfortable outlook due to continued conflict in the Middle East and regional supply disruptions, which have contributed to higher global energy prices and broader inflationary pressures.
