US Natural Gas Prices Fall Near $3.11 Amid Pipeline Disruption
US natural gas prices declined for a second consecutive session, trading near $3.11 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) on Monday, according to Trading Economics.
The decrease comes as market participants await further information about the Mountaineer XPress pipeline in West Virginia, which was disrupted due to an unforeseen mechanical issue.
TC Energy subsidiary Columbia Gas Transmission declared force majeure on Thursday and is working to address the situation as rapidly as possible. The disruption has affected gas flows in a range of roughly 1.4 to 1.8 billion cubic feet per day.
