US Navy Seizes Iranian Oil Tankers Bound for American Shores

A U.S. Navy operation has seized several oil tankers carrying Iranian crude oil, and they are now sailing towards the United States. According to Bloomberg's vessel tracking data, the tankers Tiffany and Majestic X have been sailing along the coast of Brazil for the past week.

The U.S. military seized the vessels in April as part of an effort to enforce sanctions on Iran. The Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) stated that they executed federal warrants to seize the tankers and approximately 4 million barrels of Iranian crude oil they were carrying.

U.S. President Donald Trump mentioned the seizure at a Florida event, saying, 'We are like pirates. We took over the vessel and we confiscated all the cargo and the oil.'

The total value of the cargo on the seized vessels is estimated to reach up to $600 million, according to Bloomberg.
