US Secures Record Oil Shipments Through Strait of Hormuz Amid Ongoing Iran Conflict

The US military is working to secure navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, a key waterway for global oil supply. According to CENTCOM commander Adm. Brad Cooper, over 1 billion crude oil barrels have been transported through the strait 'in the last couple of months' despite an ongoing exchange of strikes with Iran.

The US is supporting over 2000 commercial ship transits through the Strait of Hormuz and has reached a significant milestone in keeping the waterway open. CENTCOM is working with regional partners, insurance companies, and shipping companies to increase commercial traffic through the strait.

The conflict between the US and Iran remains ongoing, with both sides locked in a military conflict following the collapse of ceasefire agreements. The US has re-imposed its blockade on Iran's shipping and ports in an attempt to cut off oil sales, which are Tehran's primary source of hard currency.
