US Seizes $600M Worth of Iranian Oil Tankers in Atlantic Ocean
Three oil tankers linked to Iran that were seized by the US in April have been found to be carrying nearly 6 million barrels of Iranian crude worth around $600 million through the Atlantic Ocean towards the US mainland. According to data from vessel-tracking website Kpler, the tankers Majestic X and Tifani were seen sailing off Brazil's northern coast after being loaded with Iranian oil. The third tanker, Lenore, entered the Atlantic via the Cape Horn route on September 22.
The seizures were part of a US effort to disrupt illicit networks and interdict sanctioned vessels providing material support to Iran.
