US Stock Market Declines Across Major Indexes Amid Volatile Oil Prices
The US stock market experienced a decline across all three major indexes on Monday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 347.11 points, or 0.67%, to 51,481.51 points, while the S&P 500 Index dropped by 59.72 points, or 0.77%, to 7,683.69 points. The Nasdaq Composite Index declined by 248.34 points, or 0.92%, to 26,820.38 points.
The US 10-year Treasury yield rose by 7 basis points to 5.23%, reaching a near 20-year high. International oil prices were volatile due to news related to U.S.-Iran talks and the Middle East situation. Spot gold dropped nearly 4% to $4,112.84 per ounce.
The US dollar index (DXY) rose by 0.14% to 101.17. Cryptocurrencies declined, with Bitcoin falling more than 1% to $83,190, and Ethereum slipping 0.12% to $2,673.09.
