US Stock Market Falls Across the Board as Treasury Yield Hits Near 20-Year High
The US stock market saw significant losses on Monday, with all three major indexes falling. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped by 347.11 points, or 0.67%, to 51,481.51 points; the S&P 500 Index declined by 59.72 points, or 0.77%, to 7,683.69 points; and the Nasdaq Composite Index fell by 248.34 points, or 0.92%, to 26,820.38 points.
The US Treasury yield reached a near-20-year high, climbing by 7 basis points to 5.23%. International oil prices fluctuated sharply due to news related to US-Iran talks and the Middle East situation, while spot gold dropped nearly 4%.
Cryptocurrencies also declined, with Bitcoin falling more than 1% to $83,190.
