IonQ (IONQ) surged over 11% after announcing progress in quantum error correction technology. The company developed an end-to-end real-time decoder that can run on a single standard CPU, which is seen as a significant advancement in lowering real-time error correction costs for fault-tolerant quantum computing.
Rigetti Computing (RGTI) and D-Wave Quantum (QBTS) also rose, with notable gains in the quantum computing sector. Microsoft (MSFT) increased by 0.8% after analysts maintained a $549 price target due to the company's outlook on Azure growth.
