US Stock Market Soars as Inflation Numbers Bring Interest Rate Hike Bets Down
The US stock market experienced an improved start on September 30 as all major indices closed higher due to better reactions from markets following lower than expected inflation numbers and latest figures regarding the state of the US economy.
The S&P 500 Index settled at 7,721.64, marking a rise of 50.80 points or 0.66% and the Nasdaq index registered a higher close of 27,078.00, which marked an improvement of 280.46 points or 1.05%
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 93.10 points or 0.18% higher at 51,443.02.
Apart from stock prices, other things on which traders kept an eye include the 10-year US treasury yield at 5.25%, Brent crude at $98.43 per barrel and latest inflation numbers.
